Summary of the year.

This is my final post I have completed my year of study in dunboyne college of further education. Design I would consider the past year a major success as I believe I have completed tasks to the fullest of extent which I am very proud of during assignments such as "Green Hands", "Scungilli" and "Raven View Guest House" I followed the Design Brief to a tee in my opinion and I was given and have improved various techniques such as brainstorming, researching the neccessary material and working successfully within a group I completed all assignments and tasks. At the end of the year I also had to produce a folder with my collection of work inside it. Multimedia Authoring During the year in Multimedia Authoring I completed several tasks pefectly in my opinion .I also learnt and implemented several skills that helped me complete these various tasks. I had to produce a collection of work at the end of the year providing evidence of Editing, Animation, Interactive & Navigational Skills, Contol of Volume, Tempo and Duration & Instruction Guidelines. The final assignment in this module was the making and producing of a interactive quiz I completed this as part of a group with other class mates which I really enjoyed. Multimedia Project Development Duringthe year in Multimedia Project Developement we learned how important it is to meet deadlines successfully and that working in a group can produce superb final results and help to speed up the process of development ten fold. The two main tasks I had to complete during the year were that I had to analyse and evaluate a photo kiosk and also to create a interactive quiz which I completed as part of a group. Overall I believe the year to be a major succes I have learned vital skills and learned very intresting information about the media in general I hope to further my knowledge in the area by attending ITB next year! until then ! bye.

From this link you can access my video which was really fun when I was making it. On go animate you can add certain famous characters from the american political scene such as Barack Obama , Mitt Romney and a few other presidential candidates. Go animate is very easy to use , where any text can be inserted , whether it be comedy , serious debate , or just all out fun you have the power to produce a video which you can enjoy. The site also allows the user to make videos in different scenarios such as ones from outer space , and fast food restaurants. You are limited to the amount of dialogue that you can add to 10 lines which isnt great but overall the site is very fun.

Thursday 15th March 2012

This morning we once again went back into the big bad world of the HTML. Some of the material was very difficult to grasp and due to the large amount of small letters and symbols. some examples of these are ( < />, ", )

We at the start had a trial run at the HTML we made short pages with all the different aspects of the HTML , changing the size of the font the shape, the position and, the colour of the background which the HTML page itself.There is a lot to remember in the world of HTML but I believe I have grasped it.

With the assistance of our teacher we created our own HTML web page which contained a football league table with three teams who were , Man United , Man City, Tottenham, we got the three logo of the teams and put them into a table with the points amount for each and also the way in order of 1 , 2 , 3 , I really enjoyed created the web page as I learned alot from it.

again today in class we created a short animated video on the website " go animate" at first we just messed about  and then eventually made a video about the up coming USA presidential election. the video i made was very funny and had a few people in the class laughing which was good .  I made 2 or three videos which where good.

I also completed the design folder which i handed up which is a major weight off my shoulders i have nothing else to hand in ..... well until next wee

In class I looked back through my collection of work and realised that some tasks needed to be fixed. I done a lot of work on the raven view guest house. For this task which was done in class me and my group members who are christopher doran and paddy cregan we decided that the picture at the bottome of the screen should be changed from a picture of nature which surrounds the estate to a picture of the actual rooms which the estate has .The flyer which we created for the guesthouse can be seen below....

last week in class we recieved two briefs which we had to complete in class . The two briefs were we had to gather a collection of work from which we have completed throughout the year , such as our assignements like the scan pen design , our favourite object , scungilli logo design , also out flyers and other similar tasks we have completed during the year . we got feedback from our teacher about the certain flaws of the tasks and we had to correct them to a very acceptable standard.

The second brief was the green hands tasks which we have been doing for a few weeks now we had to finish it off by correcting the flaws and adding additional information.Below is the logo which I created for green hands. I have put the emphasis on the actual hands being green. I have also placed a stem of a small plant coming through the hands which I thought was a good addition.

Class 26th January 2012

Today in class we done two tasks on the design module of my course we had to pretend we were a multimedia designer with a budget of €5000 and we had to purchase equipment for my new office we had to look into things such as computers , printers , cameras etc which you believe that you personally would have place in your office.

We also had to go into the nitty gritty stuff. we also recieved an assisgnement where we have to design a logo for a new garden center the design has to be an original peice that is created by yourself.

The second task we were given was that we had to design from the shoes of a architect a new appartment which must be functional yet look at the key benefits that a appartment must have. thats all we done is class today

 Today in class we made and designed our own logos for a new itailian restuarant. The design had to incorperate a snail which i have put up in the top of the logo. As you can see I have placed a sort of italian theme to the picture and the colour is blue to place in line with the colour of the itailan national football team which is blue. We also had to research areas of the design such as the shape of the country of italy.

HCI evaluations assignment and design brief.

Today i handed in my assignment which was given out over the Christmas holidays. I think that I done the assignment very well and hope that I achieve the grade which I think i deserved for the work and effort I put in . In the assignment we had to make and analysis of a photo kiosk. So I went down to the local chemist where the kiosk was located and took pictures and analysed it to the best of my abilities.

Today we also gave time to add to our skills in the area of paint on the computer. We got to mess around with different tools , and get the suss on the program itself. Above is an example of some of the work that I have completed today.........We had to use paint to spell out our names and then we also had to had to add music and make a video spelling out my name. The song I choose was ' I follow rivers' by Lykke Li

The final thing we done today was make a design brief to create our own company and create a product which you generate money ... We have decided to create a website which gives fans of the club a blog where they can create vote and send in there own ideas for the new clubs chrest the winner will recieve season tickets from the club and also recieve a brand new jesery with the clubs new logo on it .
